Don was previously licensed in Houston, TX where he had the opportunity to work with top Chiropractors, Pain Management Centers and Elite Athletes. He has now taken his extensive knowledge of chronic pain and sports injuries to the streets of Wilmington, NC. He has a passion for helping people connect with their bodies, recover from injury and perform at their best. He has an eye for detail and believes that everything is connected and that the entire body should be treated. He likes to say he chases dysfunction, not pain! Need lower back pain relief or shoulder pain relief then try orthopedic massage.
At Matrix Bodywork, we believe in a multi modality approach to treat pain and dysfunction. Through orthopedic massage we work with our clients to develop personalized treatment plans that address their unique needs and goals.
Our techniques include:

Deep tissue massage
Myofascial release
Scar tissue repatterning
Neuromuscular Therapy
Active stretching
to name a few... We do not diagnose but use assessment techniques to provide effective treatment plans.
1. Pain relief: By targeting specific areas of pain or discomfort, orthopedic massage can help alleviate chronic pain, muscle tension, and joint stiffness.
2. Injury rehabilitation: Orthopedic massage aids in the recovery process by reducing inflammation, increasing blood flow, and promoting tissue healing after an injury or surgery.
3. Improved flexibility and range of motion: Through deep tissue techniques and stretching, orthopedic massage helps increase flexibility and restore optimal range of motion in muscles and joints.
4. Posture correction: It can assist in correcting postural imbalances and muscle imbalances caused by poor posture, helping to alleviate associated pain and discomfort.
5. Stress reduction: Orthopedic massage promotes relaxation, reduces stress levels, and enhances overall well-being by releasing endorphins and reducing muscle tension.
6. Enhanced athletic performance: Athletes can benefit from orthopedic massage as it helps prevent injuries, improves muscle function, and speeds up recovery time.
7. Rehabilitation from repetitive strain injuries: It can aid in the recovery and prevention of repetitive strain injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, or plantar fasciitis.
8. Improved circulation: Orthopedic massage stimulates blood flow, which can help promote healing, reduce inflammation, and remove toxins from the body.
These are just a few of the many benefits that orthopedic massage can provide. It is always advisable to consult with a qualified massage therapist to determine the specific benefits for your individual needs.
